An important “kick-off” meeting will be Sunday, February 3rd at 12:15 p.m. at

Sixes UMC Worship Center

Classrooms 1 & 2.

8385 Bells Ferry Rd, Canton, GA 30114-9711

The physical address is 8385 Bells Ferry Road, Canton. Anyone interested in going should make every effort to come to the meeting or at least contact Carol Haisten or Charles Chase prior to the meeting to let them know of your interest, but inability to attend the meeting. Our trip will be a Tuesday - Tuesday time frame, because this is most economical for the flight. The approximate cost will be $1700.00, which can be split into 5 payments with the first one due April 15th along with a completed application. The max number we can take is 16 people.

There are limited spaces for St. Andrew members on these trips. Depending on number from St. Andrew, we may need to plan an alternative trip to accommodate all interested. It is IMPERATIVE that you let Carol or Charles know of your interest before April 8th.

Please give this your prayerful consideration. We are excited and already praying for an amazing experience for everyone who joins us to partner with the pastors in Haiti and see what God has in store for us!

Andrew Christian School opened its doors in September, 2005 after members of St. Andrew made a financial commitment to support this endeavor for three years. Funding was to decrease each year afterward and now stands at $5000 per calendar year. While the school has had some financial struggles, Jean Baptiste, the school’s director, continues to take what funding he receives from St. Andrew and other sources and stretch it to serve up to 160 children per year.

The school has recently moved to a larger facility that is no longer attached to Jean Baptiste’s home.

The positive changes that have occurred in the past few years are amazing considering the challenges faced every day.  The children are thriving and happy.  The donations that St. Andrew members made for the purchase of books and the donations of educational supplies from Esther Circle and others are so appreciated. The difference this will make in the lives of these children is immeasurable.
The community continues to see Andrew Christian as a symbol of pride and achievement.  It is their hope for their children’s future.  St. Andrew UMC is proud of its part in providing a Christian educational experience for these children. St. Andrew church members can continue to support the school through their gifts to missions and by supporting mission activities throughout the year.
Carol Haisten is the Haiti School contact on the Missions Committee.  She was part of a medical mission trip last June coordinated by the North American Haiti Partnership (NAHP) lead by Dr. Lee Jacobs.  The books donated by St. Andrew were delivered to the school and received with much joy.  Future mission trips are planned for January and March this year.
Contact Carol at if you are interested in joining a mission team for future trips.
If you are interested in donating to Andrew Christian School in Haiti, please contact Carol Haistens.
