United Methodist Men
The current Pandemic has left a lot of uncertainty of what the “new normal” will look like. The St Andrew UMM has started pre-planning for upcoming events with the uncertainty of time tables due to the Pandemic.
We will work with the United Methodist Women in a joint effort to provide school supplies for children in need at J.J. Daniell Middle School when classes resume in the Fall. We plan to
continue our support of the Pumpkin Patch and Trunk or Treat. Other upcoming events include the Annual Golf Tournament on November 9, the Thanksgiving Food Drive, Murphy Harpst Christmas visit, and Children’s Christmas Toy Drive.
We are quite certain that the Pandemic will result in increased needs for people in our community. We are confident that the mission-minded congregation of St Andrew will step
forward to assist us we strive to assist our community.

Up Coming Dates 2017

Every Friday 6:30 am- Men's Bible Study.  We mention these Friday morning Bible studies often but if you're never been able to attend I want to give some more details about them.  Someone volunteers each week to bring eggs/sausage biscuits and we each chip in to cover his costs.  Don Miller leads our discussion and we go over a few verses each week and have a great discussion.   It goes to approximately 7:30 BUT, we all know how Atlanta traffic is; some of us need to leave earlier than that e.g. 7:00, to get on the road. Come try it sometime!

THANKSGIVING,  our big community event is here!!

Throughout the month we will need men to assist with communication to the church members, manning tables after services, helping to move the food brought by the congregation, etc.    Joel Ross and Gordon Mosley (be sure to thank these guys) have set up a wonderful project plan to guide us through our Thanksgiving food collection and deliveries.

We'll have tasks for anyone and everyone who wants to help as we get closer to Thanksgiving.  They will all lead up to the food delivery to the families in our community on the morning of Wednesday November 27.

UMM Golf Outing
Spring will be here before you know it and it will be time to play golf. May 22nd, 2017 is the annual United Methodist Men's Golf Outing. It is an outing for all church members. It is a great time and the proceed go to help local missions including providing meals for less fortunate families at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Please support this great cause. You can play, sponsor or volunteer. Representatives will be available in the narthex and atrium after each worship service.
Contact Charlie Paine for more information.

The Men of the Church visit Murphy Harpst four times a year.
They prepare a meal to be shared with the children, staff and accompanying members of St. Andrew.
They will play games, sing songs or whatever just comes about as long as they are having fun. At their Christmas visit, Santa makes an appearance. This is a great Outreach Opportunity for any age member of the church. The children at Murphy Harpst varies in ages, but most are 5th grade and up.
Allison Cottle brought her daughter, who is 7, to our last visit and she had a wonderful time playing on the playground, playing kickball and listening to many of the children participate is music that was supplied by a members guitar and family.
If you would like to come and experience the lives of others and have some fun, please feel free to contact a UMM member.
